Conventional rice production is challenging; weed resistance, limited herbicide options, coupled with increasing water and regulatory issues make rice production much more difficult than it was 25 years ago. We work with our rice growers to develop long term weed management programs using herbicide rotation as a foundation for effective weed control. Profit margins are slim, so we help growers source materials through suppliers who are willing to bid products on a delivered basis without the PCA service that usually accompanies these materials.
For our dairy system growers, we help in the production of quality dairy feed, double cropping corn silage in the summer and cereal grains for silage in the winter. A majority of our dairy acres are under conservation tillage (strip till and no till) practices, utilizing these practices to reduce planting costs and increase overall soil health.
Although row crops acreage is not near what it once was in our area, the acreage that remains is largely occupied by higher valued crops such as sunflowers and vine seed. These crops are typically contracted with seed producers, and we are able to work with them to help you bring a quality crop to fill your contract requirements.
